EU-India Think Tank Twinning Initiative

In the context of the "EU-India Think Tank Twinning Initiative" project, the European Policy Centre, together with the EU-Asia Centre (EUAC), formed part of a consortium led by DAI Europe that supported the EU Delegation to India in the launch of a call for proposals to experts and researchers from leading European and Indian think tanks.

The EU-India Think Tank Twinning Initiative 2016 aimed at promoting interaction between these think tanks, with the two-fold objective of increasing mutual understanding between India and the EU, and of developing new ideas on how the EU-India strategic partnership should evolve in the future. In order to tackle these issues, the EU-India Think Tank Conference (“EU and India: closer partners in global governance?”) took place in New Delhi in early November 2015.

The Conference built on two Orientation Meetings which had taken place in New Delhi and Brussels (in May and June 2015, respectively). The topics selected for the Conference were a direct outcome of those initial consultations.

With the objective of establishing a more structured cooperation between European and Indian think tanks, the organisations and experts involved in the Orientation Meetings and the Conference were invited to submit projects to the Initiative in 2016.

The project ran throughout 2016, and the Final Workshop of the EU-India Think Tank Initiative took place on 17 January 2017, in New Delhi, India.
