This workshop, organised in cooperation with the Permanent Representation of Lithuania to the EU, brought together representatives from EU institutions, EU member states, the private sector and other stakeholders and experts to further examine the effectiveness of EU sanctions, particularly in relation to case studies of Belarus, Myanmar/Burma, Iran and Syria. The results of this and the first workshop will feed into a final report which aims to assess the impact and effectiveness of the EU's restrictive measures (sanctions), to be launched in November 2013.
